Full Metal Racket: August & September2006
 Grant's
recent tour with Full Metal Racket (FMR) has been blazing across Queensland
and blowing away audiences from all backgrounds. The collaboration
between Grant's solo drumming and the dance talents of Raw Metal has
been so successful that there have already been calls for more shows
before the tour has even finished.
FMR showcases the skills and versatility of the performers with individual
features as well as well choreographed and composed collaborations
for a union of rhythm and movement.
As well as the FMR concerts, Grant has been sharing his knowledge
with 1000's of students as he visits schools for workshops as he
travels

Artist Series Drumstick:
New Vic Firth - Grant Collins signature model
Marco Soccoli, International Artist Relations Manager for the
Vic Firth Drumstick Company was out in Australia for the Ulimate
Drummers Weekend and also to launch Grant's new signature stick
with the company. Vic Firth have rewarded Grant's innovation
with his own drumstick model.
The stick is a larger model than a 2B in size but is made of
maple so its weight is similar to that of a 5A. This allows
for serious power with control and also gives you a large range
of dynamics. Maple is also
the choice wood for pro series drumsets, so it has a beautiful
resonance.

The Ultimate Drummers Weekend: Melbourne,
July
Grant recently performed on the bill for the recent Ultimate
Drummers Weekend in Melbourne. He was one of the cast which
included other world class performers including; Thomas Lang,
tommy Igoe, Dave Weckl, Cindy Blackman and Dom Famularo.
Grant performed a selection of his most recent compositions
which included; "Tubby the Robot", "Swordfish"
and "Catwoman". After a well received set, he than
did an autograph signing with Lenny Kravitzs' drummer, Cindy
Blackman for those chasing memorabilia from the event
It was a full weekend of stunning drumming performances from
all of the artists and a lot of fun to be had behind the scenes
with jam sessions and the like
